ECDataLab launched in 2025 as a next-generation initiative designed to provide people-centered support through coaching, expert consulting, and multi-state cohort-based learning. Our mission is to help states advance early childhood programs and policies through the strategic use of integrated data systems—delivering actionable outcomes and building sustainable capacity.

This work builds on the foundation of ECDataWorks, which since 2016 has collaborated with states to strengthen their ability to use integrated data to inform policy and program decisions.

Expert Coaching

ECDataLab provides personalized coaching that helps state teams apply best practices directly to their early childhood data challenges, ensuring tailored solutions and skill development. The ECDataLab Team guides state teams through the entire program.

Specialized Consulting

The program offers expert consulting from professionals with deep knowledge in integrated data systems and early childhood policy, enabling states to overcome technical and strategic barriers. ECDataLab curates and coordinates consultants that match individual state needs.

Cohort-Based Learning

States join a collaborative cohort where they share experiences, learn proven methodologies, and hold each other accountable through structured peer interactions and workshops.

In between live programming, states complete one bite-sized project assignment per month that advances them toward their goals.
