Analytic Development Cohort

Building    smarter tools   for stronger state decisions!

The ECDataLab Analytic Development Cohort uses a unique multi-state co-development model to create a foundational set of analytic tools and methods that can be adapted to meet each state’s specific context. Drawing on open-source technologies such as Python and R, technical team members will collaborate to design reusable code, workflows, and documentation that can support common analytic needs while allowing for state-level customization. This approach will help participating states identify gaps in their current analytic capacity, develop analytics with their existing use cases, and anticipate future data needs.

Each analytic development cohort will have a topical focus. Topics are based on national data and state interest. The topical focus for the 2026 Analytic Development Cohort is early childhood workforce.

Outcomes: Develop an analytic tool using integrated data to support the state's early childhood program and policy initiatives.

What do you get at the end: An analytic dashboard on the topical focus using integrated data.

ECDataLab combines multiple effective approaches across a specified timeframe so that teams make meaningful progress.
